Anderson - The Fastest Quarter Mile in the World!! - We arrived on a beautiful, cool day at Anderson Speedway with our sights set on the checkered flag that has alluded us the whole season. Once again, we were racing a race within a race. Ford Focus and Kenyon Midgets were combined to make a full field of midgets. We started the day out qualifying 2nd fast time. Ran the heat and the car was not fast at all. We finished the heat race 2nd (barely). We brought the car in and made some much needed adjustments to it. We ended up being sixth quick over all the Kenyons and Focus cars, which put us on the pole position for the feature. All 16 midgets were ready to take the track hungry for the win. Grant took the green and set sail, he was untouchable. The laps started to click off and we were in amazement that a Focus car had not caught Grant. As Grant would say " I kept looking at the scoreboard and was thinking when is a Focus going to catch me, I just decided to run my race smooth in each corner and not look at the boards" . It took until lap 33 for one Focus car to pass Grant. We finished the race 2nd overall but scored the Feature win for the Kenyon group. We almost made history that day as Pat Sullivan would say, a kenyon car beating a full field of Focus cars. Finally scored a win at the famous Anderson Speedway this year. We had scored several wins there last year but needed yet a victory this year. ACCOMPLISHED!
Our next race is "The Last Stand" at Joliet field. We will be racing our National Midget along with our Kenyon midget on September 11th and 12th. Should be a great weekend of racing. We will be racing along with some of the most famous names in Midget racing. If you would like to join us you can find the info under UMARA.com for all the details. Hope to see you at the track!! |

Grant was excited to run this track but that excitement would soon grow into frustration. We qualified 3rd quick for the night and finished 2nd in the Heat race also 2nd in the Feature. Our car was not working the greatest that night and no matter what we did it didn't make it any better. But as you can say "thats racing". We hope to finish the season strong at the next tracks.
We will be racing the National Midget the rest of the season at Grundy County Speedway on August 22, and on September 5th. We will also be racing the National at Joliet Speedway on September 11, and 12th. The race is called "THE LAST STAND". It will be raced at the historical Joliet field before they tear it down. If you want more information about this race go to UMARA.com and they have all of the details. It's going to be a fabulous night at the track, so we hope you will join us! We will include a link to their website so you can receive all the details of this fun filled weekend coming up!

August 5th we raced at Illiana Speedway in Schereville. We were hoping for a season sweep of races at that track as well as Plymouth Speedway. We were coming into the night with high expectations. Grant laid down an awesome qualifying lap setting fast time for the night. Once again we raced a race within a race. Ford Focus and Kenyon cars racing together on a tight quarter mile. Grant was 4th quick out of both classes and that started him in the 3rd spot for the Feature. Ford Focus horsepower was more evident at this track than Plymouth and they jumped out to a quick lead. When the start shook out we ended back in 7th spot, 2nd in the Kenyon car. We were chasing down the 14 car ever so patiently. Grant drove a very patient and yet aggressive race. With about 8 laps to go he caught the leader of the Kenyon pack. Grant made a clean pass and was able to hold him off to take the checkered flag in the Kenyon Cars. It was a very exciting race to see him work over each car and make it to Victory Lane. That was our 4th Feature win of the season and we swept both tracks this year. Great night at the track!! |

Definitely our favorite track to be at! Beautiful evening at Plymouth Speedway brought out a great group of friends and fans to support Grant. Once again they combined both Ford Focus and Kenyon Drivers for the night. The interesting thing about putting both classes together is that Ford Focus has approximately 80 more horse power than the Kenyon cars. Grant laid down an excellent qualifying lap effort which put him at 4th fastest over both classes. They inverted the field and that put Grant at a 3rd starting spot for the feature. Kenyon Cars ran their own Heat race and we brought home the first win for the night. It was a spirited battle between the #14 car and the #84 of Grant. The Feature was a 40 lap dash and it was a full field of 14 cars wanting the victory. The green flag flew and boy were we fast. Grant was going for the lead over the Focus cars. He was unable to pull the pass off due to the horsepower difference. He settled in the groove at 2nd position. There were 3 ford Focus cars behind us battling one another which gave us a little breathing room. Several cautions, and red flags came out making a very stressful night of racing. Grant finished the entire race 2nd over20all of those Focus Cars and was at the top for the Kenyon Cars. He scored the victory for that. It was an exciting race to watch and we were glad so many people came to cheer Grant to Victory Lane!!
Next race is August 1st at Grundy County Speedway in Morris Illinois. We will be racing our National Midget.
We want to give a great big THANK YOU to 84 Lumber Company for stepping up and paying for a total rebuild on Grants national midget. That was a HUGE help. We would also like to thank Galloway Mortgage for their recent donation to our racing endeavors. |

We had the privilege to race with Indy Car Driver Sarah Fisher. Although Sarah's team came out to race that night they were not a threat to the performance of Grant . Grant put a strong qualifying effort in at 12.629 and the pole sitter qualified at 12.609. We are definitely getting closer to the pole at Anderson but that still eludes us. That night they combined both classes of Ford Focus and Kenyon Midgets. They inverted the top 6 which put us at a 3rd starting spot for the night. Our car ran strong and two laps into the feature fellow Kenyon Driver Dillon Welch got into the back of Grant spinning him around.
Grant had to go to the tail of a long line at 17th spot. Grant was driving like Kyle Busch that night you could tell he was very angry and started moving through the field very quickly to catch back up to that driver. Great night of racing, Grant ended up 2nd in his race within a race and brought everything home in one piece. Frustrating night but a lot of learning in passing through th e field. Sarah Fisher had nothing for the top two Kenyon Drivers that night but it was still fun racing with her. |

We were able to run our National Midget there along with the USAC Regional Midgets. It was the Carter-Anderson Memorial Race that night and 20 Midgets came out to play. We didn't qualify very well that night and that put us at an 8th place start for the heat race. Grant came out on his game and ended up the heat race finishing 2nd. The track put forth a special effort to honor the drivers of these National Midgets that night and lined all the cars up in front of the grandstands and introduced each driver. Grant got to have a special interview because he was the youngest midget driver in that series. He did a great job speaking to the fans. They lined up 4-wide for a parade lap and that was quite a sight to see! Grant started the race in the 11th position that night and worked his way up to a 4th place finish that night. It was a fabulous night of racing!
Our next race is July 22 at Anderson Speedway. We will have the honors of racing with Sarah Fisher - Indy car driver. Hopefully we will beat her! |

| June 22nd - News |
Grant has been able to run his national midget for the last two weekends at Grundy County Speedway. Getting into the new car can be a bit intimidating but Grant has shown no signs of that. He was 2nd fastest in practice on Saturday set 2nd quick time, won his heat and finished 4th in his feature. The weekend before was the first time that he got to compete and they made him start on the tail. He was able to pass 7 cars and finished 4th his first time out. Needless to say Grant is ready to race the national midget on a full time basis. Unfortunately he will have to wait to compete at other tracks until he turns 16. Grundy County Speedway is going to let Grant compete up there for the rest of the season so this will be a great time to get plenty of seat time and learn alot so he's ready for next summer. July 1st is a big race at the Speedway if anyone wants to come we have tickets available, just let us know. Hope to see you at the track! |

Listen to Grant's winning interview! |

Our home track. Grant was very excited to race at Plymouth with lots of support from friends and family coming to watch. The weather was very questionable that day but held off. Grant started the night out setting fast time in qualifying, which gave him the advantage for the night. He was able to win his heat race and started on the pole for the feature. He started the feature with a great start and was able to pull away from the hungry kenyon drivers behind him. There was a very strong battle going on in the field trying to catch Grant, in the mean time he was driving steady and sure setting his sights on the victory. With two laps to go a caution came out, Dalton Armstrong blew a tire. We knew it was going to be a shoot out for the victory. Grant was able to hold off the drivers to get the checkered at his home track! What a great night for the fans and for the Galloway Racing team. Next race is at Anderson Speedway with our goal to get fast time there on June 19th. |

Started out the evening with motor issues. At the last moment got the car fixed and was able to put in a qualifying lap of 5th quick. Definitely not how we wanted to start out the night. Ran the heat and the feature and was able to gain two positions and finished the night 3rd in each event.
We will be in Plymouth on the 10th of June hope to see you at the track!

We came to this track with less than high expectations considering where we had finished there last year. Grant had a great attitude that we were definitely going to improve. Put in a qualifying run of 2nd quick, started the heat out in 2nd place. Grant was able to pull out on the outside and pass the leader with a first place finish in the heat race. He started 2nd in the feature and we warned him that he would probably not accomplish that in round two. He started the feature and when the cars shook out in their places he was 3rd. He stayed right with the top 2 guys and ran a very patient race. 7 laps to go he picked off the 2nd place car, Dalton Armstrong who gave him a very spirited battle. He then set his sights on the leader, Dillon Welch. With 2 laps to go, Dillon pushed up in the corner and Grant capitalized on the moment to take the lead. He held Dillon off to take the checkered flag at Illiana Speedway. Awesome night of racing!! |

Two days of back to back races were filled with excitement. We started out at Anderson Speedway on Wednesday night, we were there with the winged sprint cars and the sprint cars. That night Grant qualified his fastest time yet at Anderson but still ended up 4th in qualifying. Ran the feature and ended up 4th that night as well. We were racing at Mt. Lawn Speedway in New Castle on Thursday. We were able to get some good practice time in with our new regional midget that afternoon. Grant is learning his new car and loving it. He can't wait to get in that thing and race it. His 16th birthday can't come soon enough, he's going to have to wait until next April for that one. That night we had a great night at qualifying, he got FAST Time. Grant started on the pole that night and led 19 laps, Dalton Armstrong started closing in on him and caught him. He was able to complete the pass on Grant and then that started the last 10 laps of a chase for the win. Grant put his total effort into it but was unsuccessful at the win. The last corner he went for the win and got loose and ended up 3rd for the night. It was a fantastic race!! Great job by all who participated. On May 27th we will be at Illiana Speedway in Merrilville. Hoping to come away with the win that night. Stay tuned for more results to come.... |

| May 8th - News |
Grant kicked off the start of the racing season on May 8th at Anderson Speedway. That morning we had to pick up his car from the Kenyon brothers to get a new motor. His other motor was simply "raced out". Started the night off with a qualifiying run of 3rd quick, a little disappointed by that. We felt the new motor was a little tight and definitely needs to be broke in. Finished the feature with a finish of 2nd place. Good way to start the season hoping to improve each week and come home with several feature wins this year. Our next race is a double header on May 20th at Anderson Speedway and May 21st at Mt. Lawn Speedway in New Castle. Stay tuned for further results. |

| 2009 Season |
Grant is looking forward to the racing season this year. It has been a long winter and he can't wait to get back in the cars. We would like to thank Quality Window and Door and Marvin Windows for their recent sponsorship. It is a great help. Grant has grown 8" in a year and had to get all new equipment so that was a great help. Thank you.
We will be running the complete kenyon midget schedule this year but also we will be testing a Beast regional midget.
Our first race is April 5, 2009 look for upcoming results to follow.
Grant is looking forward to the new challenge of learning a new car. He's also looking forward to working with the guys from Beast manufacturing. Grant will not be able to race that car until he's 16 but is going to do a lot of testing this summer hoping to be ready "right out of the gate" for next year. |
